Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioners

What is a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner?

A Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (CPNP) is a licensed registered nurse who has a Master’s Degree and additional clinical training in pediatrics, growth and development, physical assessment and minor illness care. Practicing under the rules and regulations of the Nurse Practice Act of Texas, our CPNP's are involved in a program of ongoing education and testing to keep their skills and knowledge current. They work with us to evaluate your child’s growth and development, nutrition, and social/emotional well-being. Their schedule is planned to allow for the “extra few minutes” it may take to discuss these important issues. They will also routinely consult with your child’s physician to assure continuity of care.
