My favorite animated movie is Toy Story 2.

Harry the Dirty Dog, my favorite bedtime story and I am a dog lover.

My favorite childhood toy was LEGOs.

My greatest inspiration is my wife because of her love and perseverance.

My hobbies and interests include cruising, travel in general, pickleball, and golf.

I chose pediatrics because I love working with children. I wanted to be a pediatrician. Even at a young age, I took a leadership role at summer camps and worked my way up as counselor in training (CIT) and worked up to head camp counselor. When my son joined scouts, I chose to take leadership roles in the troop and I have also served on 3 National Scout Jamborees (Asst Camp Medical Director, Thrasher Mountain Asst Medical Director, and International Base Camp Director).

I am fortunate to have taken care of children in the New Braunfels and in the San Antonio area for almost 30 years. It has been an honor to see families now through three generations. I enjoy doing procedures (suturing, removal of foreign bodies, etc.) and being consulted on difficult cases.

While growing up and in my medical training, I was taught to show empathy while listening and providing culturally competent care. From playing on the floor with the children, to singing along with their favorite songs, etc.; trying to make the visit fun, not scary and putting the family at ease has been a philosophy of mine.
