Dr. McLaren is a board-certified pediatrician who is joining us from Shreveport, Louisiana. Dr. McLaren grew up in Houston and graduated from Texas A&M University and received his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine. He completed his pediatric specialty training at Wright Patterson Air Force Base Medical Center/Dayton Children’s Hospital combined residency program. He served a total of 11 years with the United States Air Force with the last four as a staff pediatrician at Barksdale AFB Louisiana.
He has worked as a pediatrician for a total of 29 years primarily office-based, but also as a pediatric hospitalist. Most recently, he completed a Master’s in Business Administration with a focus in healthcare in an effort to improve the cost, availability, and quality of healthcare for children.
Dr. McLaren is married, has two grown daughters who are married, one grandson, four dogs, and two cats. He enjoys swimming, exercising, walking with his wife and dogs, and learning new information and skills.
